Like many Netflix fanatics, you’ve probably heard of the science fiction thriller, Stranger Things, recently releasing their second season. The show continues much of the original season’s story line but also adds new twists and questions.

Based in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1983, a young boy named Will is abducted and has gone missing. His friends Dustin, Lucas, and Mike begin to investigate his disappearance. Unlike this second season, when the first season was initially released it was unknown to audiences but quickly drew a large following.

During the search for their friend, mysterious supernatural events keep occurring around the town. This group of kids and the setting with its throwback sets and props from the 80’s are reminding a log of viewers of  just how fun their childhood was.

The newest season the show was confirmed by Netflix way back on August 31, 2016 and filming began on November 7 in the same year. Less than a week after being released on Netflix on October 27, 2017, it is already the second most popular show on the huge entertainment site.

The elements of the story are what set it apart from many other shows. What kept viewers interested includes the sci-fi theme, the deep characters, and the classic battle against a supernatural evil.

Ratings for season two are almost perfect, with 4.5 out of 5 on most rating websites. The producers definitely got what they paid for. According to Variety, each episode of season two costs around 8 million dollars to produce, an obvious increase to an episode of season one’s production price of 6 million. The CEO of Netflix has little to nothing to worry about; however, as Stranger Things has pulled in millions of dollars, adding to the already huge net worth of the world’s most popular site for streaming movies and shows.

Any season of Stranger Things is a must-watch if you’re into supernatural themes and story lines, or you are just a fan of the 80’s and want to scratch that nostalgic itch.
